Tru Cut FAQs

Q. How can I order replacement parts for my Tru Cut reel mower?

A. We are the largest dealer for reel mower parts in the nation and have two easy ways to find the parts you need. We sell parts for California Trimmer, McLane, Swardman, Tru Cut, and Reel Rollers brand reel mowers. If you are unsure of the part number or name, click on the type of part (e.g., chains), select your Tru Cut mower model, and refer to the diagram.  Another option is to use our convenient search box in the top right-hand corner of our website.

Q. I own a Tru Cut reel mower, and I need to purchase the hardware (nuts, bolts, spacers, washers) to mount the front roller because, over time, I have lost some of the OEM hardware.  What parts are used to mount the front caster or roller assembly to my Tru Cut?

A. The parts you will need are:

Top Bolts:

T11373 x2 5/16” shoulder bolt (Top Bolt)

T90443 x2 5/16 washer (Top Outside)

T21260 x2 Spacer (TOP)

T11500 x2 Washer (TOP – inner at ¾ side by locknut)

Q. I’m ordering some Tru Cut parts, and the price seems pretty high. Can you offer any better pricing?

A. Unfortunately, the parts pricing for Tru Cut mowers is set by the manufacturer. We do everything to keep our prices low, and when we can save money for our customers, we do.

Q. What is the best lubricant to apply to the chains on a Tru Cut mower?

A. We suggest any lubricant labeled for use on chains. We recommend the Blaster Chain and Cable Lubricant.

Q. How will my reel mower be delivered if I have it shipped to my home address?

A. It will come on its own separate pallet, wrapped and ready to open. It’s best to coordinate with our delivery company to ensure that it’s put in a secure location at delivery.

Q. Do you service Tru Cut reel mowers?

A. We do not service reel mowers at our Buford shop, but we created a tool on our website to support the reel mowing community. At the link below, we have a database of shops across the country that do service reel mowers (sharpen blades). This is a 100% free resource for both customers and repair shops. Type in your zip code, and the map will list shops in your area.

Q. Do you sell the grass catchers for Tru Cut mowers?

A. No, we no longer stock grass catches for Tru Cut models at Reel Rollers.

Q. When backlapping my Tru Cut mower, what is the difference between 80 grit and 120 grit for sharpening? And which should I get?

A. 80 grit backlapping compound has a rougher texture and is more in line with regular reel mower users. A 120 grit is typically used for fine cutting, typically on 10-blade reel mowers used more frequently during the season.
