Each backlap kit includes our premium blended 80 grit backlap compound, 2″ application brush, and adapter specific for Reel Mowers. Our backlap kits are designed to work with a standard drill. This is another exclusive product from Reel Rollers and enables you to perform your own sharpening between relief grinds. Backlapping will not work on reels with a flat edge, only relief ground edges. Our newest design now allows you to use the same backlap adapter for both McLane and California Trimmer mowers. The circle holes are used for McLane brands and the square holes are used for California Trimmer.
Please note: This backlap adapter for the McLane models DOES NOT fit the McLane 17″ or manual, non-motorized reel mowers, “Greenskeeper” 25″ reel mower.
The adapter DOES fit the McLane “GR” series mower, which is differentiated from the “Greenskeeper/GK” reel mower.
